Ricardo Ribeiro has worked in the sustainability area (Health & Safety, Environment and Social) for more than 30 years in global companies such as Anglo American (mining), Unilever (consumer goods), 3M (chemicals) and Gerdau (steelmaker). As senior executive, he developed and implemented sustainability strategies, policies, systems and programmes in those companies and helped align these with the businesses' strategies. This includes community relations, social programs, stakeholders’ engagement, human rights, health & safety and environment and product sustainability. He has extensive experience in supporting business areas such as HR, Finance, Logistics, Sales, Operations/Manufacturing, Supply Management and R&D on how to improve business sustainable development.
Ricardo has international experience in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia.
He has a graduation in Mechanical Engineering and a post-graduation in Occupational Safety. He is fluent in Portuguese and English and has advanced Spanish. He is a Graduate Member of IOSH (Institution of Occupational Safety and Health).
Ricardo has several experiences in working with not-for-profit organisations. He is currently a Trustee at Rusthall Lodge Care Home, and he was a board member of CARE Brazil (NGO), Vice President of Fundambras (Anglo American Brazil Pension Fund), Deputy Director of Environment for the Sao Paulo State Industry Association in Campinas City (Brazil) and member of other sustainability committees in Brazil.
